Assfactor 4 - self titled LP (1995)

assfactorThere was nothing quite like Assfactor 4. Formed from the ashes of 2 other Columbia, SC bands, Unherd and Tonka, Assfactor 4 were the fastest, most frantic band I'd ever heard at the time. They played a million miles an hour and the only way I could tell they were all playing the same song is that they stopped and started at the same time. Still, they made me shiver when I got to see them. They were that good.

What made Assfactor 4 stand apart from most of the screamo bands of the time was their straight-forward, catchy style and the amazing speed they played. The drummer would count off the song and play as fast as he could, start to finish. No quiet melodic parts, no calculators needed. No crying. Just fast and furious.

Here's a video I found on another blog:

Assfactor 4 is their first LP, after a slew of 7-inches, compilations and splits.

Hey, mattack, finally got round to checking out your blog. I got this Assfactor 4 I while ago from the mega-post of 90s hardcore stuff on Zen Face, but I have to say it's worth hearing again. Very noisy, very abrasive, but also very enjoyable to listen to... get's the foot tapping and so on!

PS thanks for the link

Cheers, Gabba

I've been looking for MP3s of Assfactor 4 for a while! I have all the 7"s (not the spilt though!), all the compilations LPs and both LPs but only one MP3 everything else was still on vinyl...thanks for digitalizing these, I love this band so much. If you had the SPORTS record that would be amazing or any of the comp tracks or anything else that would rule!! There was supposed to be a discography being put together from a Hamilton Ontario record label called ROBOT vs. ROBOT RECORDS but I guess the label folded in 2004ish and the discography disappeared into thin air afterwards. Too bad. Great band, great blog and thank you very much for doing this! >ryan

Last I heard Assorted Pokchops was going to do the discography but was getting bogged down in cost vs. format analysis (over 80 minutes of music but a double CD costs too much...). I do have Sports and the Rights Reserved split... Maybe I'll up them soon. I have some comp stuff too, some of it has been posted by other people on other blogs. Try this one.
